Prince Harry’s U.S. Visa at Risk? Trump Weighs in on Duke’s Shocking Drug Confessions

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may face visa troubles in the United States, with former President Donald Trump suggesting potential repercussions due to Harry’s openness about past drug use. In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex disclosed his experiences with psychedelic substances, including marijuana and magic mushrooms, which he recalled in vivid detail. according to the Mirror, describing one experience, Harry wrote, “I stared at the bin. It stared back. ‘What-staring?’ Then it became… a head. I stepped on the pedal and the head opened its mouth. A huge open grin.” His frank discussion of these experiences has now sparked a controversy regarding his visa status.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams criticized Harry’s decision to share his drug history publicly, warning that it could create complications for his stay in the United States. “Harry was extremely foolish to discuss his drug taking in Spare both in interviews and in the memoir,” Fitzwilliams stated. However, he noted that Harry and Meghan have largely maintained a low profile during the U.S. election season, encouraging Americans to vote without endorsing any specific candidates.

Although Fitzwilliams acknowledged the potential issues raised by Harry’s disclosures, he also believes it is “unlikely” that Donald Trump would actually seek to expel the Duke of Sussex. He elaborated, “It is most unlikely that Trump would risk an embarrassing episode involving the royal family by expelling Harry, if it was discovered that he had not revealed his drug taking on his visa application.” Fitzwilliams also mentioned previous speculation about Meghan possibly entering politics, though no steps have been taken in that direction.

Earlier this year, Donald Trump addressed the issue directly in an interview with Nigel Farage on GB News. When asked if Harry might receive “special privileges,” Trump replied, “No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.” Farage followed up, asking if “appropriate action” could mean “not staying in America.” Trump responded ambiguously, saying, “Oh, I don’t know. You’ll have to tell me. You would have thought they would have known this a long time ago.”

This controversy adds to the challenges Harry and Meghan have faced in maintaining a stable public image in the United States. For now, the couple remains in California, though the speculation around Harry’s visa status and the couple’s role in American politics persists. Whether or not Harry’s disclosures will impact his visa or lead to any official action remains uncertain, but Fitzwilliams’ comments reflect ongoing concerns about the repercussions of his candor.
