Prince Harry set to make string of appearances without ‘beloved’ wife Meghan
0Prince Harry is gearing up for several high-profile engagements without Meghan Markle as he prepares for a week of activities in both New York and London. The Duke of Sussex will first travel to New York for a series of appearances with conservation and charity groups before returning to the UK to host the WellChild Awards in London.
This string of solo appearances comes after Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, pulled out of a recent charity event in California due to illness, and follows Harry’s recent solo trip to England for his uncle’s memorial service.
Royal expert Phil Dampier weighed in on the significance of Harry’s growing number of solo engagements, stating, “It is significant that he is doing so much on his own now.”
Dampier also suggested that this shift could indicate Harry’s desire to establish a more independent role for himself. “They are living more separate lives as it looks like Harry is trying to carve out what exactly his future is. I suspect Harry has been feeling very much like a spare part,” he added.
“He wants more fulfilling roles for himself, so we may well be seeing more of him here in the UK,” Dampier continued, hinting that Harry could be positioning himself for a more prominent public presence outside his relationship with Meghan.
Notably, during a recent speech ahead of his 40th birthday, Harry spoke affectionately about his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, but made no mention of his wife, Meghan—a detail that further fueled speculation about their increasingly independent lives.
As Harry continues to navigate his evolving role, all eyes are on the Duke as he takes on more individual engagements, raising questions about what lies ahead for him and his future endeavors.
