Insider Reveals Strain on Harry and Meghan’s High-Energy World: ‘You See Their True Side When Things Get Stressful

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may have misjudged the challenges of living the American dream, according to royal historian Hugo Vickers. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped back from royal duties to carve out new lives in the U.S., reportedly struggled to adapt to the competitive, high-energy world of Hollywood, leading to growing tensions behind the scenes.

Vickers told The Sun, “I think there have always been a certain number of cracks developing.” He noted that while the couple seemed to enjoy their new life at first, they may not have fully grasped the complexities of navigating such a competitive environment. “Obviously, they had quite a good time at the beginning,” Vickers said. “But the trouble is, it is this high-energy, competitive world in which they now exist, which is very, very hard to deal with.”

Vickers suggested that while Meghan may have had some experience with the fast-paced nature of Hollywood, Prince Harry likely had little understanding of what the American entertainment industry truly entails. “I’m sure she’s had a certain amount of experience of this. I’m not sure how much experience Prince Harry had of it,” he added.

The historian’s comments come in the wake of reports suggesting that Meghan Markle’s demanding nature left staff feeling “terrified” around her. Vickers commented on this dynamic, noting that while the couple may be generous when things are going well, the pressure of stressful situations can reveal a different side.

“I’m sure that it’s one of those situations where, probably, when things are going well they’re very generous… they remember birthdays, send little gifts, and all that sort of stuff,” Vickers explained. “But the moment things get stressful, that’s when you see the true side.”

Vickers also expressed concern about Meghan’s alleged treatment of her staff, which has been a subject of controversy in the past. “I’m afraid I rather veer on the side of thinking that she’s difficult,” he admitted. “And it’s not a good sign if you can’t be good with your staff — you know you’re in trouble.”

These insights add to the ongoing public speculation about the couple’s transition to life in the U.S. and the challenges they’ve faced in establishing their brand and projects. While Harry and Meghan have found some success, including their deal with Netflix and various charity endeavors, it seems the pressures of Hollywood have presented unexpected hurdles for the couple.

As they continue to balance their public image, media ventures, and personal lives, it remains to be seen how the Duke and Duchess will adapt to the complexities of Hollywood and whether they can overcome the cracks that experts like Vickers have pointed out.
