Good Morning Britain has sparked anger among viewers following its discussion about Prince Harry’s potential legal troubles in the United States. During a segment on the popular ITV show, Charlotte Hawkins presented the news, revealing that Prince Harry could be facing a legal battle to remain in the US.
Hawkins outlined, “Prince Harry faces a legal battle to stay in the US. A court in Washington DC has claimed that the Duke of Sussex denied past use of drugs, including cocaine and marijuana, when he applied to live in.” She also drew attention to the fact that Harry had previously admitted to drug use in his controversial memoir, Spare, which was published in 2021, reports the Express.
The segment quickly shifted to the show’s US correspondent, Noel Phillips, who provided further insight from across the pond. Charlotte Hawkins questioned whether the Duke of Sussex could face deportation, and Noel responded, “Well if the judge in this case decides to overturn his ruling from a year ago and orders to release Prince Harry’s immigration records then, in theory, the Prince could be forced to pack his bags”, according to the Edinburgh Live.
Phillips elaborated, “But this all hinges on questions he answered on his Visa application five years ago.” This development raised concerns among viewers, especially those who closely follow Harry’s ongoing legal challenges.
However, the conversation did not sit well with a number of viewers, many of whom took to social media to express their anger. On X (formerly Twitter), several fans voiced their discontent with the segment and even threatened to stop watching the show. One viewer angrily posted: “I see #GMB is promoting this nonsense with @Noel_Phillips in Washington stalking #PrinceHarry again with this pos #NastyNeil even when this is found to be pointless, they’re still gonna cry.”
Another disgruntled viewer shared their frustration: “#GMB Every time I watch @GMB when they talk about Prince Harry or Meghan it always rips or berates the couple at every opportunity.”
The backlash against the segment comes amid growing public division over the media’s portrayal of Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle. Some fans argue that certain outlets, including Good Morning Britain, focus on scandalous stories surrounding the couple, while others defend their right to privacy.
Despite the public outcry, Good Morning Britain has yet to comment on the controversy surrounding the segment. The ongoing saga of Prince Harry’s legal battles, combined with the personal revelations shared in his memoir, continues to capture the attention of the media and the public alike. Whether or not this latest discussion will have any long-term impact on Harry’s legal status remains to be seen, but it’s clear that the Prince’s saga remains a hot-button issue in the media.
