GMB Viewers Outraged Over Missing Mention of Stabbed Soldier Amidst Police Brutality and Celebrity Scandals

Regular Good Morning Britain viewers were outraged when they noticed the absence of a crucial mention from the breakfast program. Presenters Ranvir Singh and Richard Madeley returned to ITV on Thursday, July 25, to host the show, reacting to an online video showing a police officer kicking and stomping on a man’s head. The incident, which took place in Manchester, sparked major backlash and led to an overnight protest outside Rochdale police station, as reported by Katy Rickitt on Thursday morning.

Greater Manchester Police stated that the officer involved was removed from operational duties, and a 24-year-old man has been arrested for the attack. However, as the discussion on police brutality continued, many viewers were disappointed that a British soldier, recently stabbed in Kent, received no mention.

The officer, in his 40s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to the hospital for treatment after being attacked in Kent on Tuesday, July 23. He is reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

Viewers expressed their frustration on X, formerly known as Twitter. One user wrote, “Wasn’t a soldier stabbed a few days ago? Why is a horse top story for 2 days?” Another added, “Any update on the poor soldier that got stabbed?” A third commented, “Absolutely nothing about the British soldier stabbed, shame on you.” Meanwhile, the show also covered the controversy surrounding dressage star Charlotte Dujardin, who came under fire after a video of her repeatedly whipping a horse was leaked.

Additionally, Amanda Abbington’s turmoil on Strictly Come Dancing has stirred significant reactions online and on television. Richard Madeley revealed that he closely watched her recent Channel 4 News interview with his wife Judy Finnigan. During GMB’s entertainment segment, Richard Arnold updated viewers on the latest celebrity news, including Amanda’s situation.

Richard shared, “Judy and I made a point of watching Channel 4 News last night to catch this interview with Amanda Abbington. It was 45 minutes long. Richard, we both felt that she looked very damaged by the experience.” Amanda has reportedly complained about Giovanni Pernice’s behavior in the Strictly training room and recently revealed that 50 hours of footage, which could support her claims, were being withheld. Despite her allegations, Giovanni has fiercely denied them and even insulted Amanda.

She previously disclosed that her time on the show led to a PTSD diagnosis and that she and her children have faced death and rape threats. The mix of police brutality discussions, celebrity scandals, and viewer frustration over the overlooked stabbing incident highlights the complexities and challenges of covering diverse news topics on a single morning show.
