Gap Teams Up with Palace for a Fresh Take on ’90s Inspired Fashion

Gap, the iconic American fashion retailer, has announced a collaboration with the London-based skate brand Palace, introducing a new collection that caters to both adults and children. Set to launch on March 22, the collection is a tribute to the intertwined heritage of the two brands, celebrating self-expression, individuality, and community, all while drawing inspiration from ‘90s fashion, skate culture, and the vibrant spirit of San Francisco.

This partnership marks Palace’s debut in children’s wear, expanding its streetwear offerings since its inception in 2009. Gap’s president and CEO, Mark Breitbard, expressed excitement about the collaboration, praising Palace for its innovative approach to blending Gap’s classic styles with its own unique brand essence. The collaboration is set to capture the contemporary style and essence of skate culture.

The Palace Gap collection comprises 55 pieces, reinterpreting Gap’s iconic designs such as varsity jackets, windbreakers, rugby shirts, tracksuits, and more, all through Palace’s creative perspective. The collaboration also features three exclusive Logo Skate Decks and a limited-edition Jeremy Duck plush toy, adding unique elements to the collection.

Lev Tanju, the founder of Palace, reflected on the collaboration’s significance, noting Gap’s influential role during the ’90s skate scene and the brand’s timeless appeal. The partnership is particularly meaningful for Palace as it ventures into children’s apparel with Gap, known for its high-quality kids’ clothing.

The campaign promoting the Palace Gap collection was captured by photographer Jim Goldberg and directed by Will Robson-Scott. It features a short film showcasing young skaters navigating iconic San Francisco spots, including appearances by skate legends and a cameo by singer-songwriter Melanie C and young skate prodigy Anna Shea.

The collection will be available for purchase in the UK, Europe, the US, Japan, and China through Gap’s website and select stores, as well as in all Palace stores and on its website, offering fans a chance to experience this unique fusion of skate culture and fashion.
