Footasylum Unveils Cutting-Edge 10,000 Square Foot Store in Retail Expansion Spree

Sportswear retail giant Footasylum has introduced an innovative store concept within a brand-new 10,000-square-foot retail space located at Lakeside in West Thurrock, Essex.

This reimagined store not only showcases a wide range of footwear and men’s apparel but also boasts a reinvigorated approach to the brand’s digital capabilities, designed to offer customers a seamless mobile-first shopping experience.

In response to a significant surge in demand for women’s apparel, the store has significantly expanded its women’s clothing offerings, positioning it prominently within the store’s layout.

The inception of this novel concept follows Footasylum’s successful trial in smaller stores earlier this year, which introduced features like click-and-collect lockers. These innovations played a pivotal role in the trial’s success.

Over the past year, Footasylum has been actively expanding its retail footprint, announcing numerous new and expanded locations, including flagship stores in Westfield Stratford City, Birmingham, and Bullring.

This strategic expansion initiative was set in motion shortly after Footasylum was acquired by the Aurelius Group in August 2022. The acquisition ushered in a “hyperlocal” approach to Footasylum’s store openings throughout the UK.

In a press release, Barry Brown, Executive Chairman, and CEO of Footasylum, expressed, “We are committed to creating larger and more immersive stores to enhance the shopping experience for our loyal and growing customer base. Our new Lakeside store is a testament to this commitment and stands as our most technologically advanced store yet, seamlessly bridging the gap between our online and in-store offerings.”
