Buckingham Palace Refutes False Reports of King Charles III’s Demise

Contrary to circulating rumors, Buckingham Palace has officially declared that King Charles III is very much alive, following a spurious report by a Russian media outlet claiming the monarch had passed away. In a swift response to the misinformation, the palace issued a clarification stating that King Charles III, who is presently undergoing cancer treatment, remains active in both his official and personal duties.

The false news, which gained traction after being published by a Russian news agency, prompted several British embassies to denounce the claim as baseless. Notably, the British embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, took to social media to assert, “The news about the death of King Charles III is fake,” a sentiment echoed by the British embassy in Azerbaijan.

The erroneous report, which seemed to emanate from an official palace statement complete with the King’s seal, was widely disseminated, including on prominent Russian online platforms and Telegram channels, misleading many with a fabricated announcement of the King’s sudden death.

Following the spread of this false report, media outlets that initially shared the inaccurate news have since corrected their statements, acknowledging the error. The palace’s recent updates about King Charles III’s health have highlighted his ongoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis following a procedure related to benign prostate enlargement, confirming his active engagement in royal responsibilities amidst his health challenges.
