Diane Carson, the 63-year-old former teacher and standout contestant from the second season of The Traitors, is making waves with her latest career moves following her dramatic exit from the hit show. In series two of The Traitors, Diane, alongside her son Ross Carson, kept their familial relationship a secret while competing in the intense psychological competition hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
Known for her signature “absolutely” in the Scottish castle where the show is filmed, Diane was a loyal contestant until she was tragically “murdered in plain sight” by the traitors after taking a sip from a poisoned chalice. Despite not making it to the series finale, Diane has remained a prominent figure in the public eye. She made a memorable appearance on Celebrity MasterChef, where she confessed to rediscovering her passion for cooking through the competition.
Although she didn’t win, Diane appreciated the experience, stating, “It was mostly through persuasion, my kids thought it’d be great. They love watching Celebrity MasterChef. They thought it’d be fun, and I suppose, a bit of a challenge to see if I could get a kick start into entertaining again! For years, I’ve always had family and friends around and I’ve loved entertaining”, reported the Mirror.
Earlier this year, Diane took a bold step into the acting world by appearing on Good Morning Britain. During her segment, she shared her excitement about venturing into performance despite having no prior acting experience. “You know, I’m of an age, it’s been offered so I’m going to have a go and see. I’m not worried, I’m not nervous. I don’t think anybody should be nervous because if you think about it, if you don’t know one person out there, so what?” she remarked.
When host Richard Madeley questioned her about learning lines, Diane confidently replied, “Well, apparently, that won’t be a problem.” Addressing the significant career shift, she added, “I know but honestly, I will keep saying it – we all just live once.”
Adding to her impressive portfolio, Diane recently announced the launch of a podcast titled Spill The Fizz, co-hosted with drag queen Beary Poppins. She revealed the partnership at RuPaul’s Drag Con, explaining how their immediate connection led to the creation of their hour-long show. “I met Beary Poppins when he was assigned to interview me on Zoom for Heat, and we got on like a house on fire. We had such a laugh at another face-to-face interview that we kept in contact,” Diane shared.
Spill The Fizz promises to deliver engaging content, featuring daily life insights, hilarious anecdotes, and interviews with special celebrity guests. The podcast aims to provide listeners with entertaining and relatable stories, further establishing Diane’s versatility and enduring appeal.
As 2025 progresses, Diane Carson shows no signs of stepping out of the spotlight. Her dynamic career trajectory—from The Traitors to Celebrity MasterChef, Good Morning Britain, and now podcasting—demonstrates her resilience and continuous pursuit of new adventures.
