Linda Nolan’s Heartfelt Tribute Interrupted by Cringe-Worthy Technical Glitch on Good Morning Britain

Denise Nolan’s emotional tribute to her late sister Linda was cut short during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday, as technical issues disrupted the broadcast. Denise, who had lived with her sister Linda, joined hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley via video link to pay tribute to the star, who tragically passed away on January 15th.

Denise began by sharing the heart-wrenching details of the final moments she spent with Linda, explaining that she was with her sister in the ambulance the Saturday before her death. “I went in the ambulance with her on Saturday night and she was laughing and joking. I said I’ll see you on Tuesday, but that’s when it all went downhill so I never really spoke to her again, which was hard,” Denise recalled, reported by the Mirror.

Linda had been battling various forms of cancer for nearly 20 years, with her first diagnosis being breast cancer in 2005. However, Denise clarified that it wasn’t cancer that caused Linda’s death but rather a pneumonia that she contracted over Christmas and New Year. “She could have lived another few years but she got pneumonia, and her immune system was so bad she couldn’t handle it,” Denise explained, her voice filled with emotion.

The singer also spoke fondly of her sister’s resilience and positive attitude throughout her illness. “She was incredible,” Denise said, reflecting on the strength Linda showed despite her ongoing battles with cancer.

As the conversation continued, the emotional moment took an unexpected turn when the technical connection failed. Richard Madeley tried to console Denise, saying, “Denise, it’s been a pleasure talking about her with you and I know it must be very difficult for you. But it’s lovely to hear you talking about her in the way that you have.” However, Denise was soon seen holding her earpiece, saying, “Not hearing anything,” before Susanna Reid apologized, announcing, “We just lost the connection to you there Denise.”

Susanna later referred to both Denise and Linda as “remarkable women,” before Lorraine Kelly joined the discussion to share her own tribute. Last week, Denise had previously recounted Linda’s final days, describing her as a “beautiful, brave, hard-working and talented sister.”

She remembered that Linda had been cheerful and optimistic, even laughing with the medical team, but at 3:30 AM on Tuesday, Denise received the call no one wanted to hear: “Get to the hospital ASAP.” Just days before, Linda had shared with her readers that she was feeling better, despite battling a bout of flu over Christmas. “I feel so grateful to be feeling well again,” she had written. “It feels like a whole new world out there. There’s nothing like the sensation of starting to feel better after an illness.”
