King Charles Furious After Prince Harry’s ‘Ultimate Act of Disrespect’ in Memoir
0King Charles reportedly felt deeply betrayed by his son, Prince Harry, following the release of Harry’s explosive memoir Spare. According to a royal insider, the King believed Harry’s comments about Queen Camilla crossed a line, describing them as the “ultimate act of disrespect.”
Published in January 2023, Spare contained numerous revelations about Harry’s life within the royal family, including his and Meghan Markle’s eviction from Frogmore Cottage. Among the most contentious remarks were Harry’s references to Queen Camilla, whom he labeled “the Other Woman” and his “wicked stepmother.” The memoir mentioned Camilla over 60 times, with these comments reportedly striking a nerve with the King.
An insider revealed to The Mirror that King Charles took immediate action after reviewing documents and findings related to the memoir. “It was the last straw. Harry was well aware how Camilla would be a red line for his father, and he crossed it with flagrant disregard anyway. The King felt without a doubt it crossed a line – it was the ultimate act of disrespect,” the source said, reported by the Express.
The memoir also disclosed that both Harry and his brother, Prince William, had previously pleaded with their father not to marry Camilla in 2005. Despite their reservations, Harry wrote, “We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings… we recognized that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman he’d always loved”, reported by Time Magazine.
This incident added further strain to an already fractured royal relationship. Harry and Meghan’s public fallout with the royal family began in 2021 when the couple participated in an explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey. During the interview, they shared their reasons for stepping down as senior royals, citing a lack of support and understanding.
Their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan, released in December 2022, further detailed their personal struggles and experiences with the monarchy. The six-part series offered new insights into the couple’s journey, widening the rift between Harry and his family.
Harry’s candid approach, particularly regarding Queen Camilla, seems to have deeply affected King Charles. The revelations in Spare have solidified tensions within the royal family, leaving questions about whether reconciliation is possible.
