Celebrity Big Brother Praised as Star Given Own Room for Vital Medical Reason
The legendary 67-year-old TV host made a surprise entrance into the Celebrity Big Brother house last night, sashaying in with grace and grit during the live launch show. But this wasn’t just another celeb stepping into the limelight – Trisha Goddard is doing it all while facing stage four terminal cancer, and she’s determined to make every moment count.
In her intro clip, Trisha didn’t shy away from the truth. She shared with viewers that she’s living with incurable cancer and is focused on living life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity thrown her way, reported The Daily Star.
Behind the scenes, the CBB team is going above and beyond to make sure she’s looked after. Much like they did for Sharon Osbourne last year, producers have given Trisha her own private room in the house, offering her a quiet space to rest when she needs it.
A source told The Sun: “Trisha has been given her own space in the house to ensure she can rest when necessary.” And it’s not just about the room – everything’s being coordinated with her medical team to make sure she can take part in the show safely. “It’s a sensitive situation, and this setup allows her to manage her health while still being part of the show.”
Trisha explained that her oncologist has been working closely with the show’s producers to map out her care plan around filming. Speaking to the Mirror just before entering the house, she said: “My palliative care team – and when I say that word everybody screams and runs away, but it’s symptom treatment – is working with the team here too. And then when it comes to my treatment, I had one infusion on Monday, so I’ve got to jump on a plane and go straight back to have the next one as soon as the show is over.”
She’s also bringing along a bag full of essential meds and has tailored her treatment to fit with the show’s schedule. Trisha, known and loved for her iconic daytime talk shows from the late ’90s through to 2010, first battled breast cancer back in 2008. After years in remission, she announced last year that the disease had returned – and this time it’s stage four. “It’s not going away,” she said when sharing the news with fans.
Support has been pouring in online since her entrance into the CBB house. One fan tweeted: “It’s so brave of her to go in given her prognosis and to share that with the nation.” Another posted: “Wow what a brave woman Trisha is. Hats off to her.”
Trisha has been incredibly open with her journey since revealing her diagnosis. Just a few months ago, she posted raw and honest updates on her post-chemo recovery, sharing photos from walks and opening up about the daily challenges. She talked candidly about choosing to limit her anti-nausea medication due to side effects, saying, “Don’t wanna leave a trail of puke on the boardwalk, innit?”
Despite everything she’s going through, she’s living by the mantra of “movement as medicine” and making the most of every day – even if that includes stepping into a house full of celebrities for a bit of drama, laughs, and late-night diary room chats.
