Carol Vorderman Sparks Controversy with Bold New Year’s Rant Against Conservatives
0Carol Vorderman kicked off the New Year with a fiery social media post that ignited both praise and backlash. The former Countdown star, known for her sharp political critiques, took to Instagram to unveil her “manifesto for 2025,” targeting the Conservative Party and rallying for change.
“HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE,” Carol began her post, accompanied by a glamorous photo of her newly styled hair that some fans said made her look like Mariah Carey. She celebrated what she described as a disastrous year for the Conservatives, writing, “2024 we brought the oldest political party in the world, the Conservative Party, to its worst result of all time…..Booooommmmmmm. We did that TOGETHER with tactical voting”, reported by the Express.
Her message turned to the rise of far-right ideologies and her hopes for collective action. “Now the far right is on their pathetic, racist, and hate-fueled march. So 2025 we stand up to them all. Our political system is corrupted….and guess what WE CAN FIGHT IT ALL TOGETHER,” she declared, urging followers to register to vote for their New Year’s resolution.
While previously a vocal supporter of Keir Starmer and Labour, Carol voiced frustration with their recent policies. “Plans are brewing up a storm for if Labour continues not to step up to equality inc a wealth tax and far far more protection of women,” she added. “Here’s to a proper and more equal Britain…..as it used to be but even better than before.”
Her bold statements divided her audience. Critics accused her of overstepping, with one commenting, “Really used to like you but you are a complete waste of space.” Another added, “It looks like it won’t be a Happy New Year under the Labour Party as they look to be just as bad if not worse than the Conservatives were.”
Despite the backlash, many rallied behind Carol’s message. “Thank you so much Carol for putting the truth out there. You stuck your neck out & united us. Will love you forever for it,” one supporter wrote. Another offered cautious optimism, saying, “Let’s hope Starmer turns our country into a place we can be proud to live in again.”
Love her or loathe her, Carol’s fearless stance has sparked a heated conversation about the future of British politics, keeping her at the center of the national debate.
