Queen Camilla and Rose Hanbury’s Public Outing Amid Affair Rumors
Queen Camilla recently spent time with Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, amidst ongoing affair rumors involving Rose and Camilla’s stepson, Prince William. The pair were seen together earlier this week during the final day of the Badminton Horse Trials 2024.
The meeting drew significant attention due to the speculation surrounding Rose and Prince William. Rose, who is married to David Cholmondeley, the 7th Marquess of Cholmondeley, has consistently denied any inappropriate relationship with Kate Middleton’s husband.
During their encounter, Queen Camilla and Rose Hanbury appeared at ease, smiling and chatting. Rose wore a blue blazer, while Queen Camilla sported a dress in the same hue. Also in attendance was makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who opted for a floral dress, via US Weekly.
Just days after the Badminton Horse Trials, Rose was once again in the presence of royalty. She and her husband attended a service of dedication for the Order of The British Empire, where King Charles and Queen Camilla were also present. However, on this occasion, Rose and Camilla were not photographed together.
Rose Hanbury’s connection to the British royal family is longstanding. Her grandmother was a bridesmaid at Queen Elizabeth II’s wedding, and her son served as one of four Pages of Honour at King Charles’ coronation.
The affair rumors surrounding Rose and Prince William first surfaced in 2019 following an alleged dispute between Rose and Kate Middleton, who were once neighbors. Kensington Palace has never addressed the rumors. Royal expert Omid Scobie expressed skepticism about the speculation in a November interview with ET, saying he did not believe the rumors.
In March, Rose broke her silence on the affair allegations. Her lawyers issued a statement to Business Insider declaring that “the rumors are completely false.”
This statement coincided with the announcement that Kate Middleton had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer. As reported by royal expert Katie Nicholl, Kate is currently focusing on her recovery and caring for her three young children. “She is taking a period of absence away from the spotlight. Sources close to her tell me that her absolute priority is on her recovery and looking after her three young children at the moment,” Nicholl told ET. “There’s no pressure on her to return to public engagements. There’s certainly no expectation, and I think it’s going to be some time before we see her resume such public engagements.”
