Britney Spears vows never to perform in America again

Britney Spears has sparked fresh speculation about a return to performing in 2026, while making it clear that any comeback would happen outside the United States. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the 44-year-old pop icon opened up about music, healing, and her relationship with her youngest son, offering fans a rare glimpse into both her plans and her private world.

Spears revealed that she plans to give her 19-year-old son, Jayden James Federline, one of her most treasured possessions. “Sending this piano to my son this year!” she wrote alongside a photo of herself sitting next to a white piano. The image dates back to her performance of ‘I’m Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman’ at the 2002 American Music Awards.

The song was featured in the film ‘Crossroads’, which Spears starred in with Zoe Saldana, Taryn Manning, and ‘Sex and the City’ actor Kim Cattrall. In the same post, Spears suggested she is considering touring with Jayden. While she expressed excitement about performing again, she drew a firm line about where that would happen.

“I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons, but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son… in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon,” she wrote. She added a touching note of pride: “He’s a huge star, and I’m so humbled to be in his presence! God speed, little man!”

Spears also addressed her frequent Instagram dance videos, which have long drawn public attention and mixed reactions. She explained that they are deeply personal and part of her recovery. “Interestingly enough, I dance on [Instagram] to heal things in my body that people have no idea about. Yup, and it’s embarrassing sometimes… but I walked through the fire to save my life,” she shared.

The singer shares Jayden and his older brother, Sean Preston, with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. Their family dynamics have been complicated in recent years. In 2022, Federline claimed their sons struggled with Spears’ social media presence. “I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough. I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school,” he told the Daily Mail.

Recently, there have been signs of healing. Jayden spent the holidays, including Christmas, with Spears, suggesting their relationship is improving. Sean, meanwhile, was photographed celebrating with his aunt Jamie Lynn Spears, his grandmother Lynne Spears, and other family members.

While nothing is confirmed, Spears’ words have left fans hopeful that 2026 could mark a new chapter, one shaped by family, boundaries, and a carefully chosen return to the stage.
