Blake Lively allegedly called her NYC penthouse ‘Buckingham Palace,’ Justin Baldoni says
Blake Lively is getting more attention because of reports that she used to call her New York City apartment “Buckingham Palace.” This information came to light during her ongoing court battle with her ex-costar Justin Baldoni.
The comment was made during Baldoni’s interview in Los Angeles in October of last year. It had to do with their work on the 2024 movie It Ends With Us. A copy of the letter People received shows that Baldoni said Lively often asked for talks to be held at her house rather than elsewhere.

In court, Baldoni said, “She used to call it Buckingham Palace because so many famous people went through there.”
He also said, “I think that was her office in her penthouse apartment. That’s where Ms. Lively asked all of our meetings to be held.”

Blake Lively and Baldoni‘s representatives for comment, but they did not reply right away. Since then, the apartment has been discussed in the context of the larger feud between the two stars. Baldoni, 41, says that Lively, 38, demanded they work on the movie at her flat. Newly released text messages from earlier this month appear to support the idea that he visited her house to discuss changes to the script.
Baldoni said in the same messages that Lively was “setting him up for a trap” by not letting him use a body double for the project’s sex scenes. The argument is more than just a disagreement between professionals. In court documents from November 2024, Baldoni wrote about a dangerous situation he says happened at Lively’s apartment in New York City in January of that year involving her husband, star Ryan Reynolds.

In a text message to star Rainn Wilson, Baldoni said the event left him stunned. Baldoni wrote, “Ryan was yelling at me like I was five years old.” “They pretty much said that Jamey [Heath] and I are not who we said we were, and that having a podcast is dangerous because it makes people think we are safe,” he said.

The fact that these accusations are personal has made people pay even more attention to the case. Lively officially sued Baldoni in December 2024, saying he had sexually harassed her, been mean, broken the contract, caused her mental pain, invaded her privacy, and stolen her pay. The case was a big step forward in the fight because it put it squarely in the courtroom.
Baldoni then sued both Lively and Reynolds for $400 million in response. That suit was later dismissed, but the main court fight is still ongoing. The hearing is now set for May 18, 2026. This means that the issue will likely stay in the news for a while. While this is going on, even small things like a penthouse’s nickname are getting a lot of attention, showing how difficult and personal the fight between the former co-stars is becoming.
