Beautician dies two days after undergoing three cosmetic surgeries in a single session
A beautician in Brazil has died after undergoing several cosmetic procedures at the same time, in a case that is now under investigation by local authorities. Priscila Dorneles, a biomedicine graduate and owner of an aesthetic clinic, was found unresponsive at her home in Inhumas, a city in the state of Goiás, on February 28. Two days earlier, on Thursday, Feb. 26.
According to reports, Dorneles had recently undergone three cosmetic procedures in a single session: liposuction to remove fat, a breast lift known as mastopexy combined with implants, and scar correction.
It is believed she chose to have the procedures done at the same time in order to shorten her overall recovery period and reduce medical costs. Tragically, she was later discovered lying on the floor of her bedroom by her sister. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, Dorneles’ sister was already attempting cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a desperate effort to revive her.
However, firefighters reported that Dorneles was unresponsive and showed no signs of life when they reached the home. She had no breathing or detectable heartbeat. Paramedics continued resuscitation efforts while transporting her to a Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA), a public emergency care unit.
Despite their attempts, she could not be revived. Dorneles was known in her community as the owner of PD Clinic, an aesthetic clinic based in Inhumas, where she also lived. News of her sudden death quickly spread, prompting an outpouring of grief from friends, family members, and clients on social media.
Following the tragedy, the Civil Police confirmed that a case had been officially registered. Authorities have requested forensic examinations as they work to determine the exact cause and circumstances surrounding her death.
Investigators from the Inhumas police station are examining the situation as part of an ongoing inquiry. Her wake was held on March 1 at Pax Aliança in Inhumas, where loved ones gathered to say their final goodbyes. PD Clinic also shared a brief tribute online after her passing, writing: “Forever in our hearts. Rest in peace.”
Her husband, Luiz Henrique Lopes, posted an emotional message in remembrance of his wife. “I will miss you so much, my girl. I believe you are in paradise. Where you are now, there is no pain, no crying, no illness. I loved living life with you.”
Medical experts note that performing multiple cosmetic procedures in one session is not uncommon, as some patients choose this option to reduce the total recovery time.
However, specialists also warn that longer surgeries can increase the risk of health complications. Combining procedures may lead to extended anaesthesia exposure and longer operation times, which can raise the chances of complications such as infections, bleeding, or blood clots.
Authorities have stated that the investigation into Dorneles’ death remains ongoing as forensic results are awaited.
