Anne Nolan Shares Emotional Cancer Battle Update on ITV’s Lorraine

Anne Nolan opened up about her courageous fight against cancer during an emotional interview with Christine Lampard on ITV’s Lorraine. The singer delved into her personal struggles on Tuesday’s show, as Christine enquired about Anne’s wellbeing following her diagnosis with stage three breast cancer.

Visibly emotional, Anne shared, “I am so lucky, I had my first cancer in 2000, I had my chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and an operation.” She recounted how, after six months of intensive treatment, the disease reemerged two decades later in the other breast, requiring further rounds of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and surgery.

“I’m happy to say that I’m clear. I’ve got another year before I’m actually discharged. But I’m clear of cancer at the moment, thank goodness. I count myself really, really lucky,” Anne revealed, providing a hopeful update on her health.

Christine expressed relief at Anne’s positive news, and the conversation turned to the broader impact of the illness within the Nolan family. Anne candidly acknowledged the challenges they’ve faced, saying, “It has hit us hard, but then there are eight children in our family and three of us have had cancer. Whereas sometimes you see families with three children and they’ve all had cancer.”

Maintaining a positive outlook, Anne observed, “If you look at it like that, we’re kind of lucky in a way as well that only three of us have had it.”, reports the Mirror. Reflecting on her sister Bernie’s death, Anne labeled it “terribly sad” and touched upon the current ill health of her sister Linda. She praised Linda, saying, “Although she’s fantastic, she’s so upbeat about it all.

She has moments. But she still goes out, she does things with the family and gets out there. She doesn’t let it get her down too much, she’s amazing.” Linda Nolan shared the heartbreaking news last year that her battle with breast cancer, which began in 2006, had spread to her brain, leading her to step away from an astonishing 50-year career.

During an uplifting chat with Good Morning Britain at the end of 2023, Linda revealed her tumors had diminished after receiving the latest treatment courses. “At the moment, I feel good. I’ve got a little bit of pain but I was walking about yesterday; we went to the beautiful garden center and I was having a walk around to keep moving,” Linda confidently reflected. The Nolan family’s resilience and positive outlook in the face of such challenges continue to inspire many, highlighting their strength and unity during difficult times.
