Angelina Jolie sets sights on new home abroad as she prepares to leave the U.S.

Angelina Jolie is preparing for a major shift away from life in the United States, turning a long-held goal of living overseas into a near-term reality. The actress, filmmaker, and humanitarian, 50, is putting her Los Feliz home on the market as she looks to divide her time between New York, Europe, and Cambodia.

Sources told Page Six that Jolie is seeking “more privacy” and is selling the historic Cecil B. DeMille estate, valued at about $25 million, where she has lived with her six children since 2017. Jolie’s plan reflects years of restlessness about remaining in Los Angeles, much of it tied to personal upheaval and intense public scrutiny.

According to those close to her, stepping away from the city feels like the only way to reset. “She can’t get far enough away from the drama … the only way to take a break is to get out,” actor and producer Jae Benjamin, a longtime associate of Jolie, told Page Six. “She’ll go and decompress – only working on things that drive her heart, soul, and passion.

She’s a wonderful, talented and giving woman,” he added. While Jolie intends to spend time in New York, where she runs Atelier Jolie, her fashion boutique and artist workshop, her focus is increasingly global. She also plans extended stays in Europe and Cambodia, where she has owned a home since 2003, shortly after adopting her eldest son, Maddox.

The Los Feliz estate, which Jolie renovated and restored, sits on 2.1 acres and includes a main mansion, gardens, a pool, and a studio. Named after legendary director Cecil B. DeMille, the property has already been shown to potential buyers, a source told People.

Much of the “drama” referenced by friends centers on Jolie’s long and bitter split from ex-husband Brad Pitt. The former couple finalized their divorce on December 30, 2024, after eight years of legal battles, though they continue to dispute ownership of their French winery, Château Miraval.

“Being through what she’s been through with Brad, having their whole life being in the limelight and all the years of it … the only way to take a break is to get out,” Benjamin said. “It’s hard to be in a town where you can’t even turn your head and see someone you don’t know.”

Jolie has often said she stayed in Los Angeles for her children. She shares six kids with Pitt, including three adopted and three biological children. When twins Vivienne and Knox turn 18 on July 12, they will no longer be legally tied to living in the city.

“I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave,” Jolie told The Hollywood Reporter in 2024. Now, with that moment approaching, Jolie is looking ahead.

“She’s ready for a life that isn’t centered in Los Angeles,” a source told People. “She’s looking forward to 2026 and the flexibility she’ll have then.” Cambodia is expected to remain a primary base.

“They’re all very special places,” the source said. “She has dear friends in those areas who she considers confidantes and family.”
