“I’m Improving My Fitness” Alison Hammond Shows Off Slender Figure on This Morning
This Morning host and fan-favorite Alison Hammond showcased a more slender figure, attributing her new look to a dedicated fitness regime. Hosting the show on Friday, June 14, alongside Josie Gibson, the 49-year-old presenter wore skinny jeans, a white blouse, and a cropped jacket as she participated in a fitness segment, via The Sun.
During the segment, headed by the show’s resident doctor, Dr. Zoe, Alison engaged in exercises aimed at strengthening the knees. She admitted that she had been suffering from knee pain but has been improving her fitness with the use of weights.
The mother of one embarked on her weight-loss journey in 2020 following the tragic death of her mother. Since then, she has removed sugar from her diet, which has noticeably helped her lose weight. Speaking on Lorraine Kelly’s podcast two years ago, Alison revealed her reflections on her curvaceous frame. “Sometimes I look at myself and go, ‘Wow, I am a big girl’. But I like taking up a bit of space. I take a little bit of extra space in the world and I don’t think I’m hurting anyone,” she said, told Express.
She added, “We’re all going to die eventually. I might die a little bit sooner, but I’m going to live my life to the fullest. And if I do die sooner, I’m going to have a fantastic life. I’m going to have a wonderful life. I’m 47 now, I don’t know how long I’m going to go on for.”
Dermot O’Leary pulled out of hosting the ITV show on Friday and was replaced by Josie Gibson, much to the delight of fans who enjoyed the dynamic between the female duo. Making a dramatic entrance to the studio, the pair took on a Thelma & Louise-inspired stunt, complete with a sports car.
Fans took to social media platform X to express their enjoyment. One fan wrote, “Hilarious. Never boring when Alison and Josie are on. We need to see more of them and Dermot and Rylan.” Another said, “Love Alison, Dermot, Josie & Rylan. Makes me want to watch again.” A third penned, “Why can’t we always have Alison and Josie presenting. They’re the best and a great laugh.” A fourth viewer added, “Like Josie and Alison together #ThisMorning”, told OK Magazine.
Explaining Dermot’s absence from his regular slot, Alison said, “Dermot’s on holiday this week. He deserves the break! But you [Josie] are my Louise to my Thelma, my partner in crime. Josie Gibson!”
Recently, Alison hinted at a breakup with her toyboy lover David Putnam during a Q&A session on social media. When asked if she was happy, she told her followers that happiness comes from within. This came after reports of David spending his birthday alone and his mother’s disapproval of the couple’s 20-year age gap.
