TalkTV Explodes as Alex Phillips Calls Ed Miliband a ‘Nutter’ Over Net Zero Plans

TalkTV descended into chaos as presenter Alex Phillips launched a furious tirade against Ed Miliband, accusing the Labour minister of dragging the UK down with his climate agenda. In a fiery exchange with Tory MP Mark Francois, Alex didn’t hold back, slamming Miliband’s Net Zero strategy and branding him a “nutter”.

During the explosive live segment, Alex raged: “I think someone who’s just straight out of care and probably should be straitjacketed and sent back to the nearest mental institute [would] know that the Net Zero minister is going to hell in a handcart and taking the country with him.” She accused Miliband of sacrificing the UK to play climate hero on the world stage, adding, “He just seems to think that the UK needs to save the world at the expense of, guess what, the UK”, reported the Express.

Francois backed her up, pointing out that Britain contributes only about 1% of global emissions. “Even if we were to close down the entire British economy and barely emit anything at all, that would still barely scratch the problem of overall global warming,” he said. He agreed the UK should play its part, but warned against gutting British industry in the process. “I’ll just call him a zealot,” he said of Miliband.

Alex wasn’t done. “Yeah, zealot, nutter, potato potat-oh,” she said, tearing into Labour’s policies and accusing the government of writing a “blank charity cheque” to China for producing the very Net Zero tech they’re pushing. “They’re obsessed with China doing this job for them, and China are rubbing their hands together in glee,” she snapped. “You’re destroying your own economy and building theirs.”

Francois chimed in again, warning that China is still opening coal plants at an alarming rate. “Some months they open two,” he said. “We’re being given virtue lectures by Miliband about how we should put on a hair shirt. It’s a sick vanity project by Labour!”

The segment quickly gained attention online, with clips circulating and sparking debate. Many viewers echoed Phillips’ frustration, while others criticised the tone and language of the discussion. Still, the message was clear: the gloves are off when it comes to Labour’s climate policies — and the row isn’t going away anytime soon.
