Alex Bregman’s 3-Year-Old Steals the show during Cubs welcome at Wrigley Field
Share0Knox Bregman is already amazed by the Windy City. When MLB All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman signed a five-year, $175 million deal with the Cubs, his kid received the best reception in Chicago when he met the media.
The 3-year-old, wearing a Cubs cap and jersey, screamed, “Dad! Mom! Daddy!” as they got to Wrigley Field and saw the mascot, Clark the Cub. Alex told him to “Give him a hug!” and he hurried up to Clark to hug him.
Clark bought Knox a bag, and one for his 9-month-old brother Bennett, who was busy with other things at the time. Alex informed the others watching, “Brother is just eating a Cubs baseball right now.”
Fans of the Cubs hope that the older Bregman will also get to eat some fastballs while he’s there. The 31-year-old is one of the biggest pickups of the offseason. He played with the Red Sox for one year and had a slash line of.273/.360/.462.

The two-time World Series champion arrives in town with a career. He had a 272 batting average, 209 home runs, 725 RBIs, and a 43.1 WAR. Bregman will change his number and his place of play.
The shortstop, who was picked second overall by the Astros in the 2015 draft behind now-teammate Dansby Swanson, wore No. 2. He will give the number to Nico Hoerner and take No. 3. “I’m a baseball player who wins and is focused on winning,” he told the press.
“I know that the Cubs want to win.” I can’t wait to do that and win a championship here. It could also be good to spend some additional time with Clark and his family.
