Sarah Ferguson’s £13,000-a-Day Swiss Clinic Escape After Epstein Emails Emerge
Share0Sarah Ferguson checked into what is widely described as the most expensive wellness clinic in the world as renewed scrutiny over her association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein intensified. The former Duchess of York, 66, left the UK as the fallout from the expanding Epstein scandal deepened, culminating in his arrest.
While her former husband, Prince Andrew, was photographed in Windsor and later on the Sandringham estate, Ferguson largely disappeared from public view following a brief appearance at her granddaughter Athena’s christening at St James’s Palace on December 12.
Her absence prompted widespread speculation about her whereabouts. It has now emerged that she spent several weeks at the exclusive Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, where treatment costs around £13,000 a day.
A Swiss source said: “Sarah left for Zurich just after Christmas, and stayed until the end of January. She always feels at home at Paracelsus, and knows she’ll get love and attention there, as well as expert health treatment when she’s feeling at her most vulnerable.”

The lakeside clinic offers month-long residential programmes tailored to ultra-wealthy clients, providing access to teams of up to 15 medical specialists, along with a chauffeur and private chef. Another friend based in Switzerland described Ferguson as “absolutely crushed” by the release of private email exchanges linked to Epstein.
The publication of millions of documents by the US Justice Department laid bare the extent of Ferguson’s continued contact with Epstein after his conviction for procuring a minor for prostitution. Emails showed her asking him for financial help, even requesting employment as his house assistant while he was under house arrest in Florida.
In another message, she apologised for publicly criticising him, describing him as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.”The disclosures also revealed that she took Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie to lunch with Epstein just five days after his release from prison.
Paracelsus, founded by Jan Gerber, promotes itself as a discreet refuge offering high-end care for conditions including addiction, depression, anxiety and trauma. Ferguson has previously spoken publicly about her time there. On Facebook, she wrote: “I recently spent time at Paracelsus Recovery in Zurich, a clinic known for its discreet, bespoke care for those facing complex mental health and addiction challenges, to learn more. What I found was not only a centre of clinical excellence, but a place of deep humanity.”

In a separate interview, she said: “I am not embarrassed to reveal the clinic offered me a sanctuary, renowned as it is for its bespoke, cutting-edge treatment for those grappling with mental health and addiction issues – particularly those whose struggles are often hidden behind the facade of a public role.”
After leaving Switzerland, Ferguson is believed to have travelled between the French Alps and the United Arab Emirates, keeping a low profile. One source claimed she has been “sofa-surfing on a global scale,” moving frequently to avoid attention.
Questions remain about how she financed the stay, given her well-documented financial struggles. She recently told friends in the UAE: “I need to get back to work. I need money.”
