Sarah Ferguson reportedly shut down six companies and now wants to “plead her case”
Share0Sarah Ferguson is reportedly running out of options and feeling the pressure from every direction as she tries to figure out what comes next financially, with the royal family doors staying firmly closed.
According to new reports, the former Duchess of York, widely known as Fergie, has been keeping a low profile for the past two months while scrambling to find a way forward. She has previously relied on her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, for stability and even a place to live, but now it appears she is trying to stand on her own again.
The situation seems to have gotten more serious after New Idea reported that Ferguson shut down six of her businesses in just three days. The outlet claimed she issued winding-up orders against companies registered under her name, sparking questions about her current financial position and the reasons for the sudden move.
For years, Ferguson was believed to still have some level of goodwill within royal circles. Reports suggest she once held the King Charles‘s favour, but that support is said to have faded, leaving her with fewer allies at the top. Now, it seems she may be aiming her attention toward the future king.

Royal insiders claim Ferguson is hoping to arrange either a phone call or an in-person meeting with Prince William so she can “plead her case”. According to sources, she believes she may be able to soften William’s stance by pointing to her connection with Princess Diana and the relationship she developed with him after Diana’s death. But even that strategy reportedly has little chance of success.
Sources say any possibility of her being welcomed back has been crushed by the fallout surrounding Prince Andrew and the damaging revelations that resurfaced in the Epstein files. While Ferguson has long been controversial, the renewed attention on that scandal has reportedly made her even more untouchable inside the royal family. One insider did not hold back when describing how the royal household views Ferguson now.
“She’s delusional if she thinks there’s any chance of being welcomed back into the royal fold,” the source insisted. “William has made it clear to everyone, including Queen Camilla, that Sarah is persona non grata; he doesn’t want to ever see her face again.”

That same source suggested William sees no confusion or room for reconciliation at this point. He reportedly believes Ferguson has caused lasting damage and wants to draw a clear boundary. William is convinced that there is no misunderstanding between the royals and Fergie as she has “poisoned the reputation of the monarchy and he’s determined to draw a very hard line”.
If these claims are accurate, Ferguson may face a future with little support from the institution she once represented and fewer business ventures to rely on. For now, she appears to be stuck in a tough spot, searching for a way to rebuild while the royal family continues to keep its distance.
