Apple Martin addresses rumours she was expelled for bullying on social media
Apple Martin has spoken out against online rumors claiming she was expelled from school for bullying, calling the allegations “completely untrue” and saying the situation has spiraled out of control.
The 21-year-old, who is the daughter of actress Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, addressed the speculation directly in a message shared on her Instagram Stories on February 16. Martin said she initially hesitated to respond, but felt she had no choice as the story continued spreading across social media.
“Hi! I didn’t wanna respond but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand. I have never been expelled from any school, especially not for bullying anyone.” She went on to acknowledge that not everyone will like her, but insisted the rumors being shared about her character are unfair and untrue.

“I completely understand ppl not liking me and that is okay! The internet is a place where ppl can share their opinions. But this rumor is completely untrue, I am not that type of person and anyone who is close to me knows that.”
This is not the first time Martin has been linked to bullying speculation. Back in December 2024, she became the target of criticism after a video circulated online that appeared to show her interrupting another debutante’s photoshoot. The clip sparked backlash, leading some users to accuse her of being rude or entitled.
However, at the time, fellow debutante Aliénor Loppin de Montmort defended Martin publicly and dismissed the negative narrative surrounding her behavior. “[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever! She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting.”
She also emphasized that Martin treated everyone kindly during the event. “She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!” Despite the defense, the rumors followed Martin online, eventually escalating into more extreme claims, including the recent allegation that she was expelled from school.
Martin’s public statement appears to be an attempt to draw a clear line and shut down what she described as misinformation. While she did not name where the rumors started, her message made it clear she believes the situation has become exaggerated beyond reality.

In addition to the controversy, Martin has recently been drawing attention for her own personal ambitions. In a new interview with Vogue, she opened up about her career plans and admitted that she no longer wants to pursue law school, despite previously studying law, history, and society.
“I was in that rebellious ‘I don’t wanna be like my parents’ type of phase,” she said. Martin also spoke honestly about why she has chosen not to follow in her father’s musical footsteps. “I don’t wanna be a singer,” she explained.
“I like musical theater, but getting onstage by yourself to sing is so terrifying. I love dancing and I love acting. My dream is to act.” With her statement now circulating widely, Martin appears determined to set the record straight and move forward, focusing on her future rather than internet rumors.
