‘Deeply Concerned’: Prince William and Princess Catherine Break Silence as Epstein Fallout Hits Royal Family Again

In a rare and unexpected step, the Princess of Wales has issued a statement about the growing attention surrounding Jeffrey Epstein and the people linked to him, as the scandal continues to resurface with new revelations.

According to the BBC, a Kensington Palace spokesperson confirmed that both Prince William and Princess Catherine are closely following the developments and are focused on the victims.

“The Prince and Princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations,” the spokesperson said. The statement also stressed that “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims”.

While the comment has not been widely shared across the couple’s official social media accounts, it marks a notable moment, since the Prince and Princess of Wales rarely address ongoing controversies directly, especially ones connected to such a sensitive topic.

The statement also comes after Buckingham Palace made a similar public response back in October. That earlier message was released on behalf of King Charles and Queen Camilla and expressed sympathy for those affected by abuse.

“Their majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been and will remain with the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse,” Buckingham Palace said at the time.

The timing of Wales’ statement is especially significant given the renewed scrutiny surrounding Prince Andrew, whose past ties to Epstein have been one of the most damaging scandals to hit the Royal Family in recent years.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, has faced years of criticism over his relationship with Epstein. Although Andrew has denied the allegations against him, the fallout has already been severe. He was stripped of his royal titles and removed from public duties after the Epstein connection became impossible for the monarchy to ignore.

The latest attention has only intensified pressure on the royal household, and the BBC reports that Andrew’s living situation has now changed faster than originally expected.

After the scandal first erupted, Andrew was asked to leave Royal Lodge, his longtime residence. The BBC said he had been expected to move out early this year, but the timeline has been moved up, and he is now already living on private property owned by the King in Sandringham.

Buckingham Palace previously announced the formal steps being taken against him in a statement issued on October 30, making it clear that the King was moving to fully strip Andrew of his remaining royal standing.

“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honours of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace said on 30 October. “Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”

The combination of the Prince and Princess of Wales speaking out and Andrew’s accelerated relocation signals that the Royal Family is once again feeling the impact of the Epstein scandal, even years after Epstein’s death.

While the palace statements avoid mentioning Andrew directly, the situation is hard to separate from his long public association with Epstein, which remains one of the biggest reputational crises the monarchy has faced in modern times.
