‘Top Chef’ winner Kelsey Barnard Clark’s divorce was finalized just weeks before DUI arrest

“Top Chef” winner Kelsey Barnard Clark’s divorce was finalized just weeks before she was arrested on DUI charges, Page Six can exclusively reveal, and the timeline has quickly drawn attention.

According to Alabama court documents, the chef’s split from her now former husband Deavours Woodham Clark, who works in security services, was settled on Dec. 29, 2025. Kelsey, 36, filed for divorce in May 2025. Public records show that Deavours, 41, moved out of the family home within the next two months.

The former couple married in April 2015 in Florida and agreed to share custody of their two children, son Monroe, 8, and daughter June, 5.

On Wednesday night, Kelsey was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence with the children in her car. Dothan Police Department Public Information Officer Lt. Scott Owens told that officers responded to a call after Kelsey allegedly drove her car into a mailbox in a residential neighborhood. Owens said officers observed signs of impairment and conducted a sobriety test, which led them to determine that Kelsey was “unsafe to operate a vehicle.” She was then taken into custody and booked at Dothan City Jail.

Local news outlet WBRC reported that Monroe and Evelyn were in the car when the incident occurred. Reportedly, no one was injured in the crash, and the children were sent home with a family member.

The Dothan Police Department later released Kelsey’s mug shot on its website as part of its daily roundup of arrests and cited her charge as “Driving Under the Influence (Alcohol).”

The timing of the arrest raised eyebrows because just hours earlier Kelsey had posted an Instagram video documenting everything she juggles as a working mom. Her representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Kelsey rose to national fame after winning Season 16 of Bravo’s “Top Chef” in 2019. Her profile continued to grow, and she later appeared as a judge on Netflix’s “Next Gen Chef,” which premiered in September 2025.

The situation has left fans processing a lot at once, from the recent divorce to the arrest and the questions surrounding what happened that night. For now, the details available come from police statements, court records, and reporting from Page Six and WBRC, with more clarity likely to emerge as the legal process moves forward.
