Lorraine Kelly Shocks Viewers with Unexpected Announcement During Live ITV Interview

Lorraine Kelly left her guests, Jessica Brown Findlay and James McArdle, pleasantly surprised during a lively interview on Monday’s show. The stars of ITV’s gripping drama Playing Nice appeared to discuss the series finale when the conversation took an unexpected turn.

Playing Nice, which concludes tonight, tells the heart-wrenching story of two babies switched at birth, set against the picturesque backdrop of Cornwall. Jessica and James, who lead the cast, were sharing behind-the-scenes insights when Lorraine made a cheerful announcement, according to Lancs Live.

“Our Lucie Cave is actually live in Cornwall because lots of people want to know where it is filmed,” Lorraine said enthusiastically. Turning to her guests, she added, “Look at that. Does that bring back lovely memories of gorgeous Cornwall?” Both actors nodded in agreement as Lucie appeared on-screen from the chilly Cornish coast.

“It is a bit chilly, but I’m bracing myself to go into the sea a little bit later on,” Lucie confessed from Mawgan Porth, one of the series’ filming locations. Pointing out the iconic seaside, she revealed, “If you look over there, you can see Miles and Lucy’s house, which at the time of filming was owned by a property developer but has now been sold for several million pounds”, reports the Daily Record.

Lucie then upped the ante by introducing a familiar face to Jessica and James—a live surprise on the morning show. Their former surfing instructor, Peter Abell, joined in the fun, appearing in a wetsuit and waving enthusiastically at Lorraine and the studio guests.

Jessica and James were clearly delighted to see Peter, who became a memorable part of their filming experience. Meanwhile, Lucie added a dose of humor, donning her own wetsuit and attempting to surf under Peter’s guidance. “The things you have me do, Lorraine,” she quipped as she practiced getting into position on the board.

Amid laughter, Peter encouraged her with, “I think you’ll be a pro and take a wave on the first go.” The lighthearted segment had the studio and viewers in stitches as Lorraine’s knack for playful surprises brought a fun and unexpected twist to the interview.

The moment underscored the charm of Playing Nice’s coastal setting while adding a touch of spontaneity to the morning show.
