This Fruit Could Solve Your Bloating and Constipation Problems According to Experts

If you’ve been struggling with bloating and constipation, a surprising natural solution could be just what you need. Dr. Karan Rajan, an NHS surgeon, has shared that a specific exotic fruit could provide relief from these common and uncomfortable digestive issues. In a recent TikTok video, a woman discussed how consuming two kiwis a day, without the skin, can significantly help relieve chronic constipation, citing a study to support her claim, reports the Mirror.

Dr. Rajan confirmed the effectiveness of kiwis in improving gut health, saying, “If you’re constipated and bloated, then this evidence-backed kiwi regime could be salvation for your bowels. A pivotal study analyzed kiwi’s effects on gastrointestinal [GI] symptoms in constipated individuals.”

The research highlighted in the video examined the impact of eating two kiwis daily for one month, with remarkable results. Participants experienced an increase in their bowel movements from two or three times a week to five to seven times a week, along with reduced bloating and abdominal pain.

Unlike typical remedies like prunes or fiber-rich foods, kiwis offer a unique combination of both soluble and insoluble fiber. This mix softens and adds bulk to stool, which helps with smoother bowel movements. Additionally, kiwis contain an enzyme called actinidin, which further promotes regularity and helps with the digestive process.

Dr. Rajan explains that constipation is a prevalent condition that affects people of all ages, often with no obvious cause. He suggests that simple dietary and lifestyle changes, such as incorporating kiwis into your daily routine, could bring noticeable improvements. While some people may notice relief within a few days, others might need several weeks for their symptoms to improve.

However, if you experience persistent constipation or irregular bowel movements over an extended period, Dr. Rajan advises consulting with your GP for further guidance. By introducing this powerful fruit into your diet, you may find the relief you’ve been searching for.
