Lauren Goodger Shares ‘Beautiful’ Plans for More Children After Heartbreaking Loss of Baby Girl
0Lauren Goodger, star of The Only Way Is Essex, has shared her deep grief following the tragic death of her second child, Lorena, who passed away shortly after birth in 2023. Baby Lorena was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck, leaving Lauren heartbroken and still healing from the traumatic loss.
Speaking candidly to OK! magazine, Lauren, 38, explained how difficult the experience was, especially as many of her friends were not there to support her during such a devastating time. Despite the pain, Lauren has begun to consider adoption or fostering as a way to expand her family, especially as she remains single after splitting from her ex-boyfriend Charles Drury, 26.
“I’m still young, I still can have my own baby, but I’m not with anyone and time is going on,” Lauren said. “I feel like it’s such a beautiful thing to be able to do and I’ve got the space.”
Following the loss of Lorena, Lauren and Charles ended their relationship, and Lauren is now navigating life as a single parent to their daughter, Larose, who was born in 2021. “I’ve always known I wanted more [children], even when I lost Lorena, it never put me off the idea,” she shared. “If things were different with Charlie, then things would have probably been different by now, I’ve still not moved on or been with anyone else”, reported the Daily Mail.
The loss of Lorena left Lauren emotionally devastated, and she admitted that she “shut off” from the world to focus solely on being a mother. “I was so traumatized by everything that I’ve just shut off and all I could be was a mum,” she explained. “I’m really trying my best to heal and that’s why I’ve not moved on.”
Earlier this year, Lauren faced another emotional challenge when her daughter Larose had difficulty breathing and had to be rushed to the emergency room. Fortunately, Larose received treatment and has since recovered well.
In addition to her emotional struggles, Lauren recently spoke about how her recent breast reduction surgery has affected her romantic life. She admitted she’s not ready to date again yet, sharing: “If I was to sleep with someone now, I’d have to keep a bra on. That’s probably why I’ve not been with anyone. I don’t want anyone to see me like this. I don’t feel like I’m in my own body at the minute.”
Despite the emotional and physical challenges, Lauren is focused on healing and finding happiness for herself and her family in the future.
