Rebekah Vardy Says ‘The Vardys Know How to Have a Party’ as She Reflects on Family, Football, and Festive Chaos
0Rebekah Vardy, donning festive red reindeer antlers courtesy of her kids, has been juggling family life, writing her I’m A Celeb column, and preparing for Christmas chaos. In an exclusive with OK!, the 42-year-old opens up about balancing football season, festive traditions, and her family’s famous “legendary” house parties.
Reflecting on her upbringing as a Jehovah’s Witness, Rebekah shares how Christmas is now extra special for her children: “We go mad on decorations, but not on presents – that’s not what Christmas is about. It’s having the kids off school, making memories, and creating traditions that they’ll take with them.”
However, as the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, the festive season revolves around football. “Jamie’s pretty much away the whole of Christmas. It’s really hard – and really hard for the kids,” she admits. “We’ll have him for a couple of hours on Christmas Day, but then he’s training and traveling to Liverpool for a Boxing Day game. He won’t be back until the early hours of the 27th”, reported by the Mirror.
While Jamie struggles with missing time at home, Rebekah focuses on keeping the festive spirit alive. “My dad Carlos is here to lift everyone up and create absolute carnage – because my dad is absolutely mad!”
The Vardy family’s love for celebrations is legendary. Rebekah fondly recalls their iconic Skittles vodka creation. “We’d go to Costco, buy multi-packs of sweets, separate them into colors, and whack them in vodka. It was one of the main drinks around Leicester’s Premier League title-winning season. The night they won, we served it at home – that party was insane.”
Rebekah also credits her bond with former I’m A Celeb campmate Dennis Wise, with whom she’s working on a boozy collaboration. “We became such good friends. Our families holiday together – those bonds are what made the series so special.”
Discussing life in the public eye, Rebekah highlights the darker side of fame. “With cyberbullying so rife, people need to be accountable for their words. I’ve learned not to care what keyboard warriors say. It’s taught my kids an important lesson – you don’t have to go through life expecting everyone to like you.”
While keeping plans under wraps, Rebekah hints at exciting things ahead. “The new vodka is my big focus. We’re talking to international distributors, and there may even be new flavors… watch this space!”
For Rebekah, family, fun, and resilience remain at the heart of it all: “The Vardys know how to have a party. Life’s too short – you never know what’s around the corner.”
