Kerry Katona and Katie Price Join Forces as Wicked Stepsisters in Cinderella Panto
Kerry Katona and Katie Price, two of the UK’s most iconic personalities, are set to bring their star power to the stage in Northwich Memorial Court’s production of Cinderella this festive season. The 44-year-old Atomic Kitten star and the 46-year-old former glamour model will take on the roles of the wicked stepsisters in the highly anticipated pantomime, which will open on December 8 and run through to New Year’s Eve.
Both Kerry and Katie have been spotted enjoying vape breaks during rehearsals, but Kerry assured fans that her co-star is “doing so well” in the production, especially after her turbulent experience with last year’s pantomime performance in Sleeping Beauty at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena. In her New Magazine column, Kerry wrote, “I’ve started panto rehearsals now for our performance of Cinderella at Northwich Memorial Court, which have been going really well. Katie Price is in it with me and she’s been doing so well, it’s nice to have her around”, reported by the Mirror.
While some media outlets speculated that the pair had moved in together as Katie works on selling her infamous Mucky Mansion, Kerry cleared up the rumors. “I did see reports that she had moved in with me – which definitely isn’t true,” she clarified. “She will be coming for lots of sleepovers while she’s here though, which will be nice.”
Katie herself revealed the news of her Cinderella casting on her podcast, saying, “I’ve signed up to another panto! Cinderella! I’ve signed up for Cinderella and I’m one of the ugly sisters – and guess who is the ugly sister I’m doing it with – it’s Kerry Katona!” Katie explained how Kerry helped her land the role. “Kerry got me the gig because she has been working with them for six years,” Katie shared. “And she was like ‘Why don’t you come and do this panto,’ and she said it was for the ugly sisters and I said, ‘Oh, are we ugly then?’ and she said we can still be really pretty.”
The pair first met in 2004 during their time on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, where Kerry went on to win the series alongside Joe Pasquale. Since then, they’ve maintained a strong friendship, and they plan to ring in 2024 together at a New Year’s Eve party. At the event, Katie confirmed her split from ex-fiancé Carl Woods.
With a strong history of friendship and shared stage experience, fans can expect plenty of laughs and memorable moments from Kerry and Katie in this year’s Cinderella.
