Ruth Langsford Leaning on Rylan Clark for Support After “Shocking” Split from Eamonn Holmes
Ruth Langsford is reportedly finding comfort in her friendship with BBC Radio 2 star Rylan Clark following her surprising split from husband Eamonn Holmes after 14 years of marriage.
A source told Closer magazine that Ruth’s friends are helping her stay positive and “distracted” as she adjusts to the separation, which was announced in May. Eamonn has since moved on with Katie Alexander, a 42-year-old relationship counsellor, and the two were recently spotted on a getaway in Barcelona.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Ruth is said to be embracing a new chapter. “Ruth is trying to cope with all this. Obviously, it hurts and it’s very shocking, but she’s relying on friends like Rylan to distract her and make sure she’s having lots of fun – and that’s why Rylan is so good for her,” the source revealed, told Devon Live. They added, “She wants to focus on herself, her work, and getting out there. She’s going out and having a laugh as a distraction from what’s going on.”
In September, Ruth was seen enjoying a lively night out with Rylan and her friend Lizzie Cundy. The group shared cocktails, champagne, and espresso martinis, with Rylan documenting the outing on his Instagram Story. At one point, Rylan humorously asked Ruth, “What are you doing, what are you doing?” as she held two cocktails, to which Lizzie jokingly replied, “She’s having a terrible time.”
The split was officially confirmed in a statement from the couple’s spokesperson, saying, “Their marriage is over, and they are in the process of divorcing.” Ruth and Eamonn, who started dating in 1996, share one son, Jack, while Eamonn has three children from a previous marriage: Declan, Rebecca, and Niall.
As she moves forward, Ruth will soon head to Australia to support her Loose Women co-star Jane Moore, who is competing in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Ruth will also appear on the companion show I’m a Celebrity… Unpacked, hosted by Joel Dommett, Kemi Rodgers, and Sam Thompson, according to The Mirror.
