Our Yorkshire Farm’s Amanda Owen Reveals Ex-Husband Clive’s Struggles: “It’s a Nightmare”

Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen has opened up about her ex-husband Clive Owen’s challenging recovery journey following major surgery. Amanda, who starred on Channel 5’s Our Yorkshire Farm before moving on to her own Channel 4 show, discussed Clive’s health battle and the family’s support for him during his recuperation.

Speaking with ITV’s Lorraine, Amanda revealed that Clive’s recovery process hasn’t been easy, describing it as a “nightmare.” She shared, “There’s a lot going on here. It’s been a nightmare. I’ve got children going to school, children studying, and children working, and then he comes to me and says he’s bored.” She added, “He has had a hip replacement, and he’s a terrible patient.”

While the family is doing their best to help Clive through his recovery, Amanda admits that things aren’t running exactly the way Clive would like. “Everybody’s just getting on, and stuff’s getting done, but just not how he would like it. But most of the time, we don’t care,” she said with a laugh, told The Mirror.

In addition to Clive’s recovery, Amanda spoke about their new Channel 4 spin-off, Our Farm Next Door, where they’re tackling a challenging home renovation project. The family is working on transforming an old property into a home, and Amanda shared that this property has a unique history. “This actually belongs to us, whereas Ravenseat is a tenanted farm,” she explained. “No one has actually lived here for over 100 years.”

The remote property comes with its own challenges. Clive noted, “There’s no road to it at all.” Amanda added that balancing the renovation with managing their farm has been far from easy. “It was never going to be simple. I’m not that much of a twit, right?” she joked. “Ask me anything about sheep or hill farming, and I’ll tell you what I think. But ask me about home renovations—not a clue.”

Their initial plan for the renovation was simple: convert the right side of the building into living quarters. However, the project has grown more complicated, symbolizing a new chapter and a significant undertaking for the family.

With Clive’s ongoing recovery and the ambitious renovation, the family is juggling numerous challenges. However, Amanda’s resilience and humor continue to carry them forward as they navigate these changes and prepare for their future.
