Alison Hammond Playfully Calls Out Jeff Brazier on This Morning for Missing Times Square Billboard
Alison Hammond couldn’t resist teasing her colleague Jeff Brazier on Friday’s episode of This Morning after his return from the U.S., where he had been covering the latest ITV competition in New York. Jeff, fresh off the plane, was met with some playful banter from Alison and her co-host Dermot O’Leary, told The Express.
The duo had a light-hearted complaint to address: while Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard appeared on a massive billboard in Times Square, Alison and Dermot were noticeably absent. Dermot expressed his frustration, saying, “We saw it, I was livid.” Alison quickly chimed in, adding with humor, “We missed out, man, they cut us out! We got shaded, where were we?”
Dermot joked that maybe their faces were on the reverse side of the billboard, recalling, “We were there for the promo pictures,” as reported by The Mirror.
Attempting to steer the conversation away from the billboard snub, Jeff lightened the mood by presenting gifts from his trip—Alison received a baseball cap, while Dermot got a mug. Alison was thrilled, exclaiming, “Oh stop it! I love this. I love New York, I love the shopping.”
Jeff reassured them that they weren’t forgotten during his time in the Big Apple, saying, “We did think of you guys because we knew it was going to be you hosting the show on Friday.”
Reflecting on his time in New York, Jeff described it as “a lot of fun,” sharing how Cat and Ben had set him various challenges to visit city landmarks during the episodes. He enthusiastically recalled the classic New York sights, saying, “It’s the best, the steam coming out of the sewers, the subway—” before Dermot cheekily interrupted, “You’re really selling it!”
Earlier in the week, Jeff surprised Cat and Ben by revealing their faces on the Times Square billboard. The pair were visibly astonished, with Ben exclaiming, “That’s amazing! Jeff, can you please take a picture? Send pictures and send them over please.” Cat was equally stunned, saying, “No way!”
However, not all viewers were impressed with ITV’s decision to send Jeff to the U.S. for a competition promotion. Twitter users questioned the need for such extravagant trips, with one person tweeting, “Remind me why Jeff Brazier needs to be in New York, and Andi Peters in Singapore to promote a competition? #thismorning.” Another commented, “New York? Really? #ThisMorning.”
