CCTV Footage Shows Anita Rose Moments Before Brutal Attack While Walking Her Dog in Suffolk

Police investigating the murder of Anita Rose have released new CCTV footage, capturing the 57-year-old during her morning dog walk in the Suffolk village of Brantham, just hours before she was found critically injured. A cyclist discovered Rose unconscious on a track road near the railway line and sewage works off Rectory Lane on 24 July. She was rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where she tragically passed away four days later, on 28 July.

Rose, who had left her home around 5 am to walk her springer spaniel, Bruce, was last seen in the footage wearing dark leggings, trainers, and a distinctive pink jacket – a “discontinued cerise-coloured Regatta Calderdale II jacket,” according to Suffolk Police. She was found at approximately 6:25 am, still with her dog, who was unharmed during the attack.

Police are also appealing for help locating several personal items still missing from the scene, including a black quilted phone case with a gold crown and stud detail, along with white Samsung Galaxy Buds2 earphones. Authorities believe these items may hold crucial clues in the investigation.

In addition to the footage, officers have released images of a man they wish to speak to. He is not a suspect but may be a potential witness who “could assist with the inquiry,” according to police.

Crimestoppers has announced a £20,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for Rose’s death. Police continue to urge anyone with knowledge of the missing items or who may have been in the area that morning to come forward with information.
