Police Intensify Search for Missing Mother Victoria Taylor
Police are urgently searching for Victoria Taylor, a 34-year-old mother who has been missing from her home in Malton for more than three days. CCTV footage captured Ms. Taylor on the morning of her disappearance, offering the last known sighting of her. The image, released by North Yorkshire Police, shows her at a BP garage on Welham Road in Norton at around 11:35 BST, just hours after she was last seen at home at approximately 09:00 BST on Monday.
As the search continues, officers have discovered some of Ms. Taylor’s belongings near the River Derwent, raising concerns about her safety. Inspector Martin Dennison, leading the search effort, expressed the gravity of the situation: “Like her family and friends, we just want to see her safe and well.” He further cautioned the public, advising them to be careful if searching near the river, as officers are equipped with specialist training and gear to navigate difficult terrains.
The North Yorkshire Police underwater unit has been deployed as part of the extensive search effort, with drones scouring the area from above. In addition to the physical search, authorities have conducted “multiple” inquiries and reviewed “hours” of CCTV footage from the area where Ms. Taylor was last seen, a police spokesperson confirmed.

Ms. Taylor, who works as a nurse at a care home and is a mother to a two-year-old daughter, was described by police as white, approximately 5ft 6ins (1.7m) tall, and last seen wearing blue jeans, a black Adidas puffa jacket with white stripes down the sleeves, a grey Jack Wills hooded jumper, and carrying a salmon or pink Vans backpack.
Inspector Dennison urged anyone with information that could assist in the search to contact police via 101, while stressing that “any immediate sightings should be reported to 999.”
Earlier in the day, volunteers gathered at a local pub to join the search efforts for Ms. Taylor, a testament to the community’s concern for her safety. As time passes, the urgency to locate her grows, with both authorities and loved ones hoping for a positive outcome.
