King Charles ‘Losing Patience’ as Prince Andrew Refuses to Leave Royal Lodge in Ongoing Tension

At 75 years old, King Charles III is facing a difficult situation with his younger brother, Prince Andrew, and is reportedly growing increasingly frustrated. The King is said to be eager to resolve the issue of Andrew’s living accommodation, as well as the financial burden associated with his security and lifestyle.

Despite retiring from royal duties nearly five years ago, Prince Andrew continues to reside in the grand Royal Lodge in Windsor. However, his royal ties and past controversies have led to complications. After the Home Office revoked Andrew’s official security detail, it has been King Charles who stepped in to cover the costs—an estimated £3 million a year. On top of this, the King also provides his brother with a living allowance.

But now, royal insiders say the King is “losing patience” with this arrangement and wants to find a long-term solution. As one source revealed to The Times, “It is now two years into the King’s reign and he wants the matter settled.”

The monarch is reportedly considering two possible outcomes. The first would see Prince Andrew funding his own security and income, but this seems unlikely given that his only personal income is a modest navy pension. The sheer cost of maintaining the necessary security would be far beyond what Andrew could afford.

The second option would involve moving the Duke of York to Frogmore Cottage, the former residence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Frogmore, still within the Windsor estate, offers a more manageable living arrangement and lies within the Windsor security cordon. The King is apparently open to continuing financial support for Andrew if he were to relocate there, easing the burden of the current arrangement at Royal Lodge.

The growing tension between the King and his brother comes at a sensitive time. Discussions over Andrew’s future living situation coincide with the upcoming release of a documentary that revisits the Duke’s infamous 2019 Newsnight interview. The interview, centered on Andrew’s connections to the disgraced American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, led to widespread public backlash and forced the prince into retirement from official royal duties.

With the King pushing for resolution and a documentary about to reignite public scrutiny, the pressure to find a solution to Andrew’s living and financial arrangements is mounting. As King Charles reportedly hopes, this long-standing issue may soon reach its conclusion.
