“Look Forward to Celebrating with You, Today and Always”: My Mum, Your Dad Star Janey Smith Makes Heartfelt Commitment to Roger Hawes

My Mum, Your Dad star Janey Smith has made a heartfelt public commitment to her boyfriend, Roger Hawes. The couple met through the ITV1 dating show, hosted by Davina McCall, last year. Janey, a 48-year-old recruitment manager, was paired with 59-year-old postman and widower Roger, who was seeking love after the tragic death of his wife.

Nominated by their children, Jess and William, who were determined to help their parents find love again, the matchmaking turned out to be more successful than they could have imagined, told OK!

Janey and Roger have now been together for over a year. Janey took to Instagram to wish Roger a happy birthday, posting a striking picture of him looking handsome in front of an impressive country house. “Happy birthday to this guy! Love you millions,” she wrote, followed by heart emojis. She further committed to being with Roger “always,” posting, “Look forward to celebrating with you, today and always.”

Fans of the couple were quick to offer their congratulations. One commented, “Have the happiest of birthdays, Roger… I’m sure the beautiful @janeybombshell will spoil you rotten…” Another added, “You guys just look so good together.”

Their romance has moved quickly and touched the hearts of many, with the happy couple regularly posting updates together. These include a fabulous holiday covered by the cameras on This Morning and finally moving in with each other.

Reflecting on their journey, Roger described the past year as “a whirlwind,” saying, “I think back to those first couple of days on the show – then Janey came in and everything changed for the better.” Janey added, “It’s gone by so quickly. We had about four months together before the show aired when no one knew about us. Now everything feels so natural.”

Talking about the highlights of the last 12 months, Janey sweetly admitted, “I just love having a boyfriend. I get to share things with someone and that’s what I’ve always wanted. It’s taken me a while to get used to it but we’re a team now. Roger will say, ‘You’re not on your own anymore,’ but I was so independent, I struggled to ask for help.”

The couple’s heartwarming journey from meeting on a dating show to building a life together has been a source of inspiration and joy for their fans. With their love continuing to grow, Janey and Roger look forward to many more celebrations and milestones together.
