Prince Harry’s Friendship Hangs by a Thread as He Goes ‘Rogue’

Prince Harry’s surprise decision during the early days of the Invictus Games has been revealed by a close associate.

David Wiseman, a dear friend of Prince Harry and the director at the Invictus Games Foundation, recounted an instance when the Duke of Sussex went “rogue” by unexpectedly accelerating the timeline for the Invictus Games launch. This decision followed Prince Harry’s visit to the Warrior Games in 2013, as reported by GB News.

Wiseman shared, “Unexpectedly, Harry announced ‘next year’ as the timeline on stage. We were taken aback, thinking, ‘Really? By next year?'”

The team, initially just a few people at the Royal Foundation, pulled together to realize Harry’s ambitious vision. “By September 2014, we managed to host it at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park,” Wiseman added.

Reflecting on a casual breakfast they shared during the Warrior Games visit in America, Wiseman described Prince Harry’s foresight: “Harry was moved by what he saw. He envisioned an international version of the games, inclusive of allies from around the globe, hosted grandly at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and broadcasted on major platforms like the BBC.”

The director further vouched for Prince Harry’s dedication and visionary role in the project during his appearance on A Right Royal Podcast, emphasizing that Harry “has always been the visionary from the start and remains deeply invested and proud of the Invictus Games.”
