TROUBLE IN PARADISE as Meghan Markle mysteriously removed from Invictus Games schedule and replaced
Mystery surrounds Meghan Markle’s involvement in Prince Harry’s forthcoming Invictus Games as reports suggest her name has been mysteriously removed from the schedule, and replaced by another figure.
The Invictus Games, a sporting event for sick and injured former service personnel founded by the Duke of Sussex, is poised to kick off in Dusseldorf this Saturday.
While Prince Harry will be present at the opening ceremony, Meghan is expected to join him during the week-long tournament.
Initially, the official guide for the 2023 Games had included Meghan’s name, indicating her participation in the closing ceremony on September 16, where she was set to present a segment featuring the stories of some competitors.
However, a recent check of the Invictus website revealed a separate schedule with no mention of Meghan, and the segment highlighting the competitors now lists German TV host Hadnet Tesfai as the presenter.
An unnamed source informed MailOnline that the initial information about Meghan’s involvement had been updated in error and assured that Meghan is still scheduled to make appearances alongside her husband during the Games.
During last year’s Invictus Games event in The Hague, Meghan delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, offering words of praise for Prince Harry’s efforts.
However, in the Netflix documentary titled “Heart of Invictus,” which focuses on the 2022 Games, Meghan’s appearances were limited.
This intriguing development comes as Prince Harry prepares to return to the UK for the first time since June to attend a charity awards ceremony.
On Thursday, he will participate in an event in London that celebrates the accomplishments and resilience of seriously ill children and their families supported by the WellChild charity.
The awards ceremony coincides with the first anniversary of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, Harry’s grandmother, who peacefully passed away at Balmoral in Scotland on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96 after a remarkable 70-year reign.
Prince Harry has served as WellChild’s patron for 15 years and has been a regular attendee at its annual awards ceremony.
However, Meghan, although a guest at previous events, is not expected to accompany him this time. Last year’s awards were held on the day of Queen Elizabeth’s demise which led Prince Harry and Meghan to withdraw from the event as Harry traveled to Scotland to be with other members of the royal family.
During the ceremony, Prince Harry will engage with the award winners and their families at a pre-ceremony reception before presenting the Inspirational Child Award, designated for children aged four to six, and delivering a speech.
In anticipation of the event, Prince Harry expressed, “For nearly 20 years, WellChild has been transforming the lives of children and young people across the UK, providing critical care that prioritizes the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of these individuals and their families.”
