Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor are back together after five years of separation

First, it was Ben and J-Lo and now a second Hollywood golden couple is getting back together.

Five years after separating another Ben (Stiller, this time) and his Zoolander co-star wife Christine have rekindled their romance and are working things out.

Fans were shocked when they announced that they were separating after 17 years of marriage with a joint statement at the time saying that they still had a ‘tremendous love for one another and that their priority was their children.

Now it looks like this story has a happy ending after all.

Ben announced their reconciliation in a sit down with Esquire Magazine saying ‘we were separated and got back together and are happy about that.’

Interestingly it was when they moved back in together so that they could still be with their children during the pandemic that they realized that they still had feelings for one another.

‘It’s been really wonderful for all of us. Unexpected and one of the things that came out of the pandemic,’ he went on.

Bizarrely he compared their reconciliation to rediscovering horse riding.

‘A few years ago, I realized I don’t like horseback riding, if there’s an opportunity to go horseback riding, I’m probably not going to do it. `Now, I like horses! I think they’re beautiful. I like petting them.’

‘I like watching people ride horses, I like watching my kids ride horses. I just don’t really love riding horses. And once you know that, it just saves a lot of energy.’

‘So, yeah I think we have a respect for the ways that we’re similar and the ways we’re different. And I think accepting that, you can really appreciate someone more because you’re not trying to get them to change for you. Once you accept that, you save a lot of energy.’

Ben and Christine first met on the set of Heat Vision back in 1999 and tied the knot just a year later. They share two children Ella and Quinlin.
