Tragic: Grieving Parents Speak Out After 12-Year-Olds Convicted of Son’s Murder

According to reports from Nottingham Crown Court, two 12-year-old boys have been convicted of the horrific murder of 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai in November last year. The boys, whose identities cannot be revealed due to their ages, are believed to be the youngest convicted murderers in the UK since the infamous James Bulger killers in 1993.

According to Daily Mail, The court heard shocking details of how Seesahai, who was originally from Anguilla in the Caribbean but staying in Birmingham for cataract surgery, was brutally attacked with a huge 16-inch machete at a park in Wolverhampton. He suffered catastrophic injuries including deep slashes to his legs, a fractured skull, and a fatal 8-inch stab wound that went through his heart.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics to save him, Seesahai tragically died at the scene. The two young defendants initially tried to blame each other for the killing, but the jury unanimously found them both guilty of murder on Monday after a month-long trial.

Prosecutors revealed chilling evidence that suggested the murder was premeditated. One of the boys had taken a photo of himself posing with the murder weapon tucked into his trousers just hours before the attack. This photo was sent to his girlfriend along with lyrics from a rap song about violence.

The court also heard that in the 24 hours after the killing, neither boy showed any remorse. One even cleaned the bloodstained machete with bleach and hid it under his bed. When arrested, he was casually watching TV. Messages between the pair dismissed Seesahai’s death, with one boy sending a voice note saying “It is what it is.”

According to news reports, the defendants were known for their bad behaviour in the local area prior to the murder. Residents accused one of the boys of riding around at night, damaging property, and even posting fireworks through letterboxes. One neighbour erected barbed wire around their home to keep the “scum” out.

In a heartbreaking interview, Seesahai’s grieving parents Suresh and Maneshwary paid tribute to their “loving and protective” son who dreamed of getting an education and taking care of his family. They expressed disbelief that children so young could commit such a horrific act of violence.

“Twelve-year-old kids should be at home doing school work and then going to bed,” Maneshwary said. “He always said he wanted to work, have his own house and car. He told me ‘Mum, I will be shining.'”

Suresh added: “This world is a different world, kids are dangerous now. If we don’t pay attention to them, this will keep happening.”

The devastating case has sparked serious concerns about youth knife crime in the West Midlands. Detective Inspector Damian Forrest, who led the investigation, said: “It’s not the first time I’ve dealt with a young man losing his life to knife crime, but it’s the first time I’ve seen two 12-year-olds being responsible, and that’s something that took me by surprise.”

The two young killers are expected to be sentenced next month. Their identities may never be publicly revealed due to their ages at the time of the offence.
